Mark Robinson borrows the name Teen-Beat from a song by the band Henry Cow. Earlier in the year, the band Unrest had chosen their name from the title of Henry Cow's second album.

The newly formed Teen-Beat begins a lending library-style approach to music listening, turning the music industry on it's head. Only one copy of each release is made and is shared with one person at a time for a fee of free. The first releases are given letters instead of standard digital catalogue numbers.

At least 21 of these one-of-a-kind early releases are made. Only seven of them are known to exist today.

Mark designs the Teen-Beat logo in August.
