DESCRIPTION

Residents of Somerville, Massachusetts (think Boston Legal with pitchforks) are encouraged to call 617-776-9844 and leave an anonymous message about anything and everything to do with their environs. Callers are welcome to comment on important topics like loud music, parking and dog parks or on much less weightier topics like political corruption and world affairs. Local newspaper the Somerville Journal then transcribes the messages and prints them verbatim - often without context, correction or attribution. I then read them into a microphone. And finally money magically appears in my wallet. Oh right. I heard about this on This American Life! Close. That was Soundoff in the Summerville News, based out of Summerville, Georgia.
